Maureen's menagerie

Another bike ride today meant more lessons learned. Borrowing someone else’s shitty bike sucks. I was pedaling so fast, and the bike just couldnt keep up!

Either way we did 9.5 miles and got to see some of the Air Show at Jones Beach. Now its beer time.

Fun times on Fire Island!

Fun times on Fire Island!

Bike lessons learned:
1. Get some real biking/running glasses that wont slip off my face when riding down a big hill.
2. My brakes work great.
3. Ouch.
10 fun miles this morning. Really starting to love biking again : )

Sure, they look all innocent, but these ladies kick some serious butt!!
Tonights class left me drenched in sweat, and I loved every minute of it.
P.S. I still hate burpees : )

I am still feeling pretty great after this past weekends Brooklyn Half Marathon. Based on Athlinks  I have now taken off over 18 mins off my first Half Marathon time. Slowly but surely getting faster!

I do not think I could have PR’d this race without Cindy  by my side. If you ever have the chance, run a race with her. Her positive attitude was really what I think kept us moving along, especially in miles 10-13 when we were both starting to feel tired.

I have had so many great memories in Coney Island over the past decade or so, and now I can add this one to the list!

I do, I really do.

I do, I really do.

Best Half Ever.

Could not have done it without Cindy. More to come later… Need nap!

anxiety

I don’t know why but I am completely freaking out about tomorrow’s BKLYN half. I don’t know what is wrong with me but I am sitting at my desk having a sheer panic attack, you would think it’s my first race or something.

I think its a combination of having to wake up super early to get there, the fact that its going to be pretty warm out, and that this whole race has been hyped up for months, that is really throwing me through a loop. Why should this be any different than the two half marathons I just did in NJ and Long Island????

ugh help! calm me down!
